This Nanking style ginger vase by Tung Chun Canning Co, complete with original raffia backing (one side is loose) and intact label, is very unusual. The vase is made of earthenware with a glaze effect and is hand painted with soldiers or warriors, including one on horseback and others on foot. The vase is still filled with ginger syrup and is tightly sealed at the neck. Obviously it is not suitable for consumption. The base is marked.
